Introducing Beauvale by Cropwell Bishop Creamery…
Here at Cropwell Bishop we’re very excited about Beauvale – our new and delicious creamy, soft blue cheese created here in the dairy.
Beauvale has been carefully developed to perfection by our very own Robin Skailes and Howard Lucas, we love its soft melt in the mouth texture and mellow flavour. It's even spreadable on biscuits.
Robin first started work on Beauvale two years ago. His vision was to create an English soft cheese that could rival, if not better, the many continental blue cheeses available. And we think he's done a fantastic job!
Beauvale is perfect for both Stilton fans, and those of you that prefer a milder blue flavour. It's perfect on a cheeseboard served with crackers, bread or fruit. Or tastes just as wonderful melted in pasta or on grilled meat. And it makes a great addition to a salad or dressing too - the list is endless!
Beauvale is produced with the same care and attention as all Cropwell Bishop cheeses. It contains nothing but British milk from our peak district farmers, and cultures that give it its distinctive mellow blue flavour. Our artisan cheese makers carefully hand ladle Beauvale into moulds before leaving it to mature for seven weeks, during which time it is turned by hand and develops its thin edible crust.
The name Beauvale was conceived by Robin's friend, Ben. He's a rather creative chap and took inspiration from the Vale of Belvoir, which is the name of the area surrounding Cropwell Bishop. And there's a story behind Beauvale's logo too. Children at nearby Manor Farm Montessori School, including Robin's son, stenciled and coloured the lettering, making Beauvale's logo truly unique.
